WordPress 2.7

I’ve been building websites  for some time now and I’ve tried to encourage my customers to manage their own content. The problem is, CMS (Content Management Systems) while in my opinion are quite simple to use, they are in fact intimidating for the average customer.  They would rather have you manage their content.  Even though they know their product best. In most cases they don’t understand that even the simplest changes to their content requires time and effort and therefore should incur a cost.

I’ve spent the past Christmas break getting to know WordPress. I have tried it before but didn’t invest much time to really see what it had to offer. I can say I like what I see.  It can be used as a simple blogging tool or can be adapted as the customers main website.  The key is finding (or building) the right theme.

In my case I first looked for a theme that would meet my needs then I decided on the structure and then looked for existing plugins to accomplish what I wanted.

I think it worked out well. All put together in a few hours

A lot of the credit goes to the wonderful theme (Fusion by digitalnature.ro) and to the authors of the plugins that I’ve discovered over the last few days.
